Lawrence Park North

Lawrence Park North is an established residential neighbourhood centred around the Yonge and Lawrence area, combining quiet residential streets with convenient access to the subway, neighbourhood schools, parks and the shops and services along Yonge Street.

For homebuyers, one of the most important things to understand is that Lawrence Park North is distinct from Lawrence Park South. While the two share the broader Yonge–Lawrence area, their street patterns, lots, housing stock and overall residential character can be quite different.

Where Is Lawrence Park North?

The City of Toronto officially identifies Lawrence Park North as Neighbourhood 105.

Lawrence Avenue forms much of its southern boundary, while the neighbourhood extends north through the residential streets surrounding Yonge Street. Its municipal boundary is irregular rather than a simple rectangle, particularly along its northern and eastern edges.

Yonge Street runs through the neighbourhood and provides a useful way of understanding Lawrence Park North at a more local level.

East of Yonge is the Bedford Park and Wanless Park area, while west of Yonge the residential streets extend toward Avenue Road and the broader Bedford Park community.

For buyers, these smaller pockets matter. Walking distance to the subway, schools, parks, lot dimensions and even the character of the housing can change as you move through the neighbourhood.

Where Is Lawrence Park North?

Yonge Street provides a natural dividing line through Bedford Park.

To the east, the neighbourhood connects with Wanless Park, Mount Pleasant and the residential communities of North Toronto. To the west, Avenue Road becomes an important commercial corridor and the neighbourhood gradually transitions toward Ledbury Park.

These differences may seem small on a map, but they can have a meaningful impact on everyday life — including walking distance to transit, school catchments, access to parks, traffic patterns and the types of homes available.

For buyers, Bedford Park is best understood street by street rather than through a single neighbourhood average.

BEDFORD PARK EAST

East of Yonge Street, Bedford Park is closely connected to Wanless Park, the Yonge–Lawrence corridor and Mount Pleasant.

Quiet residential streets, neighbourhood parks and convenient access to Lawrence Station make this pocket particularly appealing to buyers who want a residential setting without giving up easy access to the subway and everyday amenities.

BEDFORD PARK WEST

West of Yonge Street, Bedford Park extends toward Avenue Road, giving residents access to another major corridor for restaurants, shops and everyday services.

The area offers a diverse mix of older detached homes, renovated properties and newer custom builds, with differences in lots, streets and proximity to major roads creating distinct micro-markets within the neighbourhood.

LEDBURY PARK

Continue northwest and Bedford Park transitions naturally toward Ledbury Park.

The community offers many of the qualities buyers associate with Bedford Park — detached homes, residential streets, schools and local parks — while providing more convenient access toward Bathurst Street and Highway 401 for households that rely more heavily on driving.
